I'm not much of a church-going guy. Sure, I believe there's a higher power so I guess you can say I'm spiritual, but not religious. I did, however, find a great Bible verse that says:
"The generous prosper and are satisfied; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed." – Proverbs 11:25
Basically, this means the more you help others, the more you'll get back in return. It goes along the lines of the abundance mentality. Author Stephen Covey (Seven Habits Of Highly Successful People) coined this term meaning a business concept in which a person believes there are enough resources and success to share with others.
I've recently begun putting myself and my ideas out there by networking with other like-minded trainers. From the conversations I've had with them, whether it be by phone or email, I can say that they've been very helpful and encouraging, definitely sharing the abundance mentality. Think about this, there are no secrets in this fitness industry. Only our unique and individual ways we deliver the information/results to our clients gives us our niche. The abundance mentality creates a win-win situation for everyone (clients and fellow trainers) to learn and grow, and, especially in this fitness industry, isn't our main objective to help others?
